For Your Pet

Welcome to Beyond Animal Rehab

We’re a friendly, expert-led rehab and hydrotherapy clinic in Hampton, helping dogs recover from surgery, manage arthritis, and stay active at every stage of life.

Our story began in 2023, when our founder’s beloved Border Collie, Lily, was diagnosed with IVDD. Overnight, she went from a bouncy and active pup, to being completely paralysed in her hind limbs — a life-changing moment that inspired a new path. With years of experience working as a physiotherapist for elite human athletes, our founder retrained to help dogs like Lily move, heal, and thrive.

In 2025, Beyond Animal Rehab opened its doors — a calm, purpose-built space designed with dogs in mind. From our state-of-the-art underwater treadmill to our tailored treatment plans, everything we do is about combining clinical expertise with compassion.

We work with dogs (and sometimes other small animals) recovering from injury or surgery, managing long-term conditions, or just needing a boost in mobility or fitness. Every animal is treated like one of our own — with patience, kindness, and expert care.

Our services

We create personalised treatment plans using the latest veterinary physiotherapy and hydrotherapy techniques:

A safe, low-impact form of exercise that uses the natural resistance of water to help build muscle strength, improve joint mobility, and reduce pain. Perfect for rehabilitation, weight management, or keeping your dog fit without putting stress on their joints. The warm water helps reduce pain, supports the joints, and encourages natural movement, all while building strength and confidence.

Tailored, hands-on treatments such as massage, stretching, joint mobilisation, and electrotherapy. Designed to relieve discomfort, restore movement, and speed up recovery from injury, surgery, or long-term conditions.

Gentle, targeted massage techniques to ease muscle tension, improve circulation, and promote relaxation. Ideal for dogs recovering from injury, managing chronic conditions, or simply in need of a little extra TLC.

Rehabilitation isn’t just physical — we also support your dog’s emotional well-being. We work to ease stress, anxiety, or behavioural changes that can arise during recovery, helping them feel more comfortable and confident.

For active and performance dogs, we offer conditioning and cross-training programmes to build strength, improve agility, and enhance stamina — all while keeping sessions engaging and enjoyable.

For Vets

We provide trusted, evidence-based rehab and hydrotherapy to complement your clinical patient care. Our Hampton facility offers targeted programmes for post-operative recovery, neurological cases, musculoskeletal injuries, and chronic pain management.

We combine clinical expertise with a compassionate, tailored approach for every patient. Our facility in Hampton is equipped with an underwater treadmill and designed to deliver targeted hydrotherapy and rehabilitation programs for a wide range of conditions, including post-operative recovery, neurological cases, musculoskeletal injuries, and chronic pain management.

We work closely with our referring vets to ensure continuity of care, and all dogs must receive veterinary consent prior to their first hydrotherapy session. We maintain open communication with vets by sharing updates at appropriate intervals.

To ensure a high level of service, all our team members are registered with relevant professional bodies as listed on their biographies, including ACPAT, NARCH, IRVAP, and RAMP.

If you’d like to arrange a visit or discuss a referral, we’d be happy to connect.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on your dog’s condition, goals, and how they respond to treatment. Some dogs show improvement after just a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing support over several weeks or months. We’ll review progress regularly and adjust the plan to make sure your dog gets the best possible outcome without unnecessary treatments.

Yes — veterinary physiotherapy and hydrotherapy are regulated treatments, so we’ll always work with your vet to make sure it’s safe and appropriate for your dog. If you don’t have a referral yet, we can provide the necessary forms and guide you through the quick and simple process with your vet.

Hydrotherapy is safe for most dogs, including seniors and those recovering from injury, when carried out by qualified professionals. We always assess your dog’s health and abilities before starting, and we adapt sessions to suit their needs, ensuring they’re comfortable and supported at all times.

Yes! We work gently and patiently to help dogs feel at ease, introducing the treadmill and water gradually. Many dogs who were unsure at first end up enjoying their sessions once they realise it’s fun and makes them feel better. We never rush — your dog’s comfort is our priority. Just make sure you bring plenty of your dogs favourite treats and toys!

Yes — while dogs make up most of our patients, we also treat cats, rabbits, and other small animals where appropriate. If you have a different pet in mind, just get in touch and we’ll be happy to discuss what’s possible.

An underwater treadmill allows for more controlled movement than a hydrotherapy pool, and weight-bearing exercise which helps to retrain walking patterns. It’s ideal for rehabilitation as we can adjust speed, water depth, and resistance to suit each dog’s specific needs and stage of recovery.

We regularly treat dogs with conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia, cruciate ligament injuries, IVDD, arthritis, obesity, post-operative recovery, neurological disorders, and general mobility issues.

Sessions are generally 30 minutes in total, and include time to catch-up, time on the treadmill, and time to get out and rinse off. The first session has 60 minutes booked in, so that we can make sure Micky gets time to settle into everything.
